EX FIRST (イーエックスファースト) is a small publishing and design company based in Nagano Japan, founded and operated by Charles Ward since 2015. Under the name EX FIRST GAMES (formerly EX1ST GAMES), Charles designs and produces game accessories, as well as board games and card games in both physical and digital form. EX1ST GAMES offers an online store and excellent customer service to international retail and wholesale buyers. I run a small indie publisher and don't have the resources to advertise constantly or ship review copies to everyone who asks, so I try to find people, like you, who might like my games and accessories. I try to make my products fun, freely available, safe, inclusive, colorblind friendly, durable, recyclable, and plant trees. We even offer a no-packaging option sometimes. A lot of love and work goes into each product.

I'm happy to ship a review copy to you at my own expense for you to review in a timely manner. EX1ST GAMES was born out of the Game Design community on boardgamegeek.com and the community-run contests where designers, playtesters, proofreaders and translators have helped improve hundreds of games for everyone to enjoy. These contests focus on free print and play games, some of which become excellent published games. I want to go a step further and promise to publish all of my games as Forever Free Print and Play Games, forever. I can do this thanks to a community of people passionate about the hobby.

Artwork, ideas, feedback, playtesting, writing, proofreading, and translations are kindly accepted as volunteer work and credited as projects develop and move forwards. Every contribution, even the harshest criticism, is appreciated and welcome. In the end, I am responsible for making the best use of your contribution.
